Okay! That’s enough! Just because I’m as dark as a windowless cellar, as black as a pirate’s hat, and as prickly as an angry porcupine does not make me automatically a fan of all things scary and unfriendly! In fact, I much prefer all things cheery. Like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens. These are a few of my favorite things. I can go on and on about doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodle, but I think you get the idea.

As for wind howling through the night, the creaks in the walls after everyone else is in bed, and anything related to cementaries, those are definitely not my cup of tea. In fact, just thinking about them makes my branches crawl and my pine needles stand up on end! I don’t mind Halloween, with all the candy corn and costumes and pumpkins with personality, but I’m so much more than that. I can stand tall on other occasions too, like an Over the Hill birthday party, a graduation, a great deal you got during a Black Friday sale. I invite you to get to know me better. I may look tough but I’m actually just a softie inside.
