Dear Diary,

I just got back from a tree-rific family reunion in Coney Island. This is the first time that we all were able to make it in years. I’ve been pining to see everyone in what seems like fir-ever.

The whole family was there—my favorite cousin Noble from Oregon, my brother Douglas from California, and even my old uncle Fraser drove all the way up from North Carolina. I think he lost a few needles on the way. But it was well worth it because he brought my new nephew, Nordman. That little guy is a bright green ball of spunk! I wonder if I ever looked like that.

It’s tree-mendously fun when we get together. I guess we have a family resemblance because everyone was asking if we shared the same family tree. Personally, I like to branch out from the crowd. I tried to get spruced up a few times during the trip. Not to brag, but it doesn’t take that much to get me looking good – just a few ornaments and a top hat and I look dressed to the pines!

More About the Me

Every family has its traits. For some, its big noses. For others, pointy ears. My family? Well, we have three distinguishing features. First, we have what is known as "in and out" branches. In grade school, some of my "friends" used to say that I look like a piece of pizza that got nibbled around the edges. However, I think they were just jealous of my "in and out" shape. You ought to see them when they try to put on tons of ornaments! My fantastic shape helps me show off an incredible amount of ornaments on each of my beautiful boughs, and now that I'm older and wiser, I know I'm the lucky one.

Another special feature is that I'm half traditional PVC, and half pine needle PVC. It's like the best of both worlds: I get my fullness (there are no holes in my foliage!) from the traditional PVC, but I get the definition from my fine pine needle branches. Check me out in a close up photo, I love to show off my finest points! Now, if I could only figure out which of those boxes to check in demographic surveys...

Finally, when you look at me up close, you may see that my foliage has some subtle highlights. They're natural, I swear, just a bit of that winter blue-green to pepper up my style. These highlights to my regular green foliage are similar in color to that of my cousin, Blue Spruce, but I just have the highlights, rather than the whole blue green look. Like they say, I'm Fir-Ever young...and these highlights sure help me keep looking that way!

Treetopia™ Goes Green

Here at the North Pole, we care a lot about being green. Sometimes, our customers ask why they should buy a traditional green tree from such a funky and colorful retailer. Well, the truth is that here in our workshop we have always made fabulous green trees. We continue to put the same love and care that goes into each of our colorful and funky trees into our traditional ones too. It’s just that we’ve become a little famous (OK, well, a lot famous!) for our more funky offerings.

Think of us like Ben & Jerry’s – we're best known for our funky flavors, but our plain ol’ vanilla and chocolate are still the best around!
