THE PRESIDENT: Mr. Speaker, Mr. Vice President, members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow Americans:

Tonight we celebrate the strength of our democracy. While we have differences of opinion, we come together to proclaim a unified spirit. It is because of this spirit – this great decency and great strength – that I have never been more hopeful about America’s future as I am tonight. Despite our hardships, our union is strong.

As Americans, we are proud of our nation – we fly our flags high to proclaim our freedom. Freedom that allows us to speak openly. Freedom that allows us to worship publicly. Freedom that allows us to put up Christmas trees for any occasion at any time of year.

Tree includes:

• Rotating stand (oh yes, this baby spins!)
• 15 LED white star lights (approx. 1 inch in diameter)
• Red, white, and blue (what did you expect?) branches
• Shimmery look on white branches

It is because of this liberty that we can declare our patriotism with a bright, rotating Christmas tree. We can shout it to the nations with LED stars and tinsel stripes in their full glory. One star for every two states (25 in all) is a grand symbol of unity, partnership and willingness to work across the aisle.

America may not be without our challenges, but our creativity and expression of our values are sound. Display your colors proudly, my fellow Americans – whether in your living rooms, foyers, or basements. Our colors shall never fade.
